![]() ![]() So here's the command line that UTM is using to launch win11 arm: (The 32GB version doesn't appear to be out for preorder yet, but the 16GB version is. 32GB of RAM is getting to where there's going to be plenty of RAM to run some VMs on ARM on something within reach of non-enterprise customers. This also would have use for running multiple Linuxes on a single ARM64 box. I'm pretty sure someone has or could compile the Windows virtio drivers for ARM64 easily. I think ARM has virtualization extensions, so obviously you want to use those if possible. But apparently nobody has bothered to figure out if it can be done/write a guide? Would love to play with Win11 ARM but since such a device won't have native boot support, seems running a VM would be a good option. We're starting to see ARM boards with decent performance in the maker space (Orange Pi 5 just dropped, up to 32GB RAM and 8 cores). ![]() Can't find anything about virtualizing ARM64 on ARM64, other than some people asking about it on Raspberry Pi's and getting snarky "dude, just get an x86_64 laptop, don't bother" replies. Every thing I try searching for gives me ideas for running Windows ARM on x86_64 hosts, emulating Raspberry Pi on x86_64, etc. ![]()
